After almost 10 years since they performed live in Davao, Razorback has finally come back for the Oktoberfest…(This time without Tirso and Dave). Manuel, who’s with Wolfgang, has covered for the event.

It was really fun to hear them live. I just can’t help but overwhelmed with so much of the too much. And to our surprise, Eric Gancio of Yano was also there to play with the boars.

I really had fun with my friends.

Irie Man!!!

Things in the consumer services will be done and I’ll have my break soon. For two weeks, all I did was go in between branches and the main office and install computers and its systems. I lost track of my usual sit, analyze and deploy. I just have to be back fast as I’m delayed 1 week.

Thank God, I’m doing great and things are picking up. Users are very much in sync with the process. *sigh*

Anyway, tonight would be great as I’ll be with Juan and some friends to watch Razorback for the Davao leg’s Oktoberfest launch at DAMOSA Gateway. Thanks to Rocky for texting me about the event. The last time I saw them was with Wolfgang on their Roadworthy Tour here in Davao. Pinoy Rock at it’s best.

I also have to archive some tunes I downloaded from Torrent. Hehe. Irie Man!!!

Push It

I woke up “empty”. I just don’t know if it’s the effect of Red Horse and Fundador I had last night with friends at work. Or maybe it’s the effect of not playing Ultimate Frisbee for 2 weeks. *sigh.

I just didn’t have the time to think about it until I was done with so much work. I want to let it all out. I just don’t know how.

Why do some people act like they’ve been Ateneans (de Manila) or “Sorry, I don’t know what people from UST are”? Are they trying to sound like them? Are they trying to become the “bling” from the crowd? Or have that status of the “In” at these days?

I know, it’s nice to have that 1 second shot made by that player, but in blue hell, it’s not a good reason for you to act as if you’re one of them, making stories like you’ve been there in the crowd as part of the Atenista (de Manila) or the “Atenista de Manila” as you’ve been trying to act.

Sorry, I’m not amused.

...newest toy

After 7 years of using AMD Processors, I finally tried Intel’s Core 2 Duo.

At first I was hesitant, thinking of getting AMD X2 but with so much AMD for the past 12 months (4 AMD Turion 64 Laptops (2 for the Office and 2 for friends), 2 AMD Athlon XP 64, 23 AMD Sempron 64 2600+/3000+) and prices of computer parts plunged its way to the “puddle”, I gave Intel a try.

Anyway, I got these things for the server.
• Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 1.8 Ghz
• Epox 5P945C GLI Motherboard
• 2 x 512 mb DDR 2 Memory
• 128 mb 128 bit DDR3 7300GT Sonic
• Philips 16x DVD+R/-R Dual Layer
• 250 GB Seagate SATA Hard Disk

So far, I’m happy with it on Windows 2003 Small Business Server. I hope it’ll be great for the system.

done with it

Yesterday was a hell ride. I got up with a telephone call from Panacan branch. Their server had caused too much trouble and they just can’t get into the operations. I hurriedly prepared my things for the day and went straight to the office.

67 death metal albums were great for the day’s work and went home at about 11:30 PM.

Server is up and still waiting for some ambiguities.

Not bad to end the day. Thank you Lord.

iTunes 7

I just had my iTunes 7. Very neat and I just love the Cover Browser. Just like the way you browse your CDs.

I just got in the office and read some news.

“Muslim anger against the pope” and “New iPods for the season”.

Well, for the Muslim population on their growing anger for the pope’s comments, I guess we just have to get into the thing of digging the real context of his statement.

Quoting the pope’s speech at Germany.

"The emperor comes to speak about the issue of jihad, holy war," Benedict said. "He said, I quote, 'Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.'"

The pope did not explicitly agree with nor repudiate the comment. Well in fact, he is against the use of violence in the name of religion.

If people on each religion will not talk about these, war will be the next agenda. And some groups would fuel this for their convenience like terrorism. God forbid.

2 GB iPod Nano Family

And of the new iPods, they’re just great. I’m just sorry for people who just bought their nanos. Its iPod mini + iPod nano.

Wasting some time

Today, I’m on leave. I just had my laboratory for my Medical Examination. The doctor would be in her clinic at 4 PM so I’m wasting some time here in Ilustre.

The place is great. You can have your laptop connected through their network. Its weird of them to call it WiFi hotspot since my laptop had it connected physically. This is WiFi, SpaNet version.

Doraemon not found

Being a fan of the Tagalized Doraemon on GMA 7, I searched for it on the net just to get some episodes. It’s just weird to find this thing on GMA’s website.

Bantay Bata 163 Fun Run

It was fun being with the STDs at the Bantay Bata 163 fun run. We all run 5K and it was great to finish the race. Not only did we enjoy, but were able to help the kids go through their childhood.

a thought on mac users

I know you’ve heard some of the Mac Addicts’ brouhaha about their Macs. That it’s better than Windows and its far more user friendly than any operating system around the market. Their attitude of being that “superior” over Windows users just makes me poke a newly sharpened pencil to their eyes.

Ok, it’s no doubt that their gadgets are better, but with user friendliness, I think it’s not that friendly. It’s just weird knowing people who are into technology fail to get into iTunes or install some new programs or even don’t know how to use iPod. Even some tend to ask to other mac users just to get in.

I’m a Windows user myself and I’m ok with it. I had problems with it but just like any technology, I know how to play with it.

Is it really user friendly or just another inducted mac user who turns to feel superior by flaunting their macs.

It’s not the machine, it’s the user.

3D Soap Opera

My week has been fun.

Being the cooperative’s resident lab rat, I shift to any geek related task in micro seconds. From Systems Administrator to Computer Technician to Systems Developer to Electrician to Capt. I.T. of unanswered stupid I.T. questions search engine.

I just can’t finish a task for people in my place just want my presence to get through their things. From simple “light in the tunnel resolution on computer monitors because I don’t know how to adjust ” to complex “I can’t connect to the network because I’m stupid to realize that I unplugged the network cable because I want to transfer my computer to a better place” to glorified status of “Ooopps!!! I want some mp3s on my computer because I’m cool to have an mp3 CD bought at Greenhills by my sister who’s having her vacation in Davao" (with a sossy accent like Da’vaO…with enunciated “V”…PERTI. Dabaw ra na) to “I’m charming please like me” “When would my computer be fixed because I have to chat my chatmate from far away land of United States of Matina Aplaya”.

Hahaha…I just love getting through those things. It was like soap opera on 3D glasses. I just can’t help but laugh on these people. They’re effortlessly funny.

entertain me

I’ve been to situations where I like to annoy people who impose some things for their conveniences. And with yesterday’s overwhelming population of people in this category, I have decided to make it a hobby of mine, to annoy every single one of them.

I just can’t take them who try to become the person they would want to. Like what happened to the grocery packer. The old lady (customer) was scolding the packer because of the way he packed her groceries. I’ve seen how things were packed and I don’t think he was sloppy on his job. She continued to whack her mouth as if she owns the packer.

And with some people who doesn’t know what queue is, I was about to get our groceries into the taxi when a lady with her kids went straight ahead as if they have not seen me loading my things into it. She had this look on her face as if I was the one who didn’t have the sense of order.

Well, being the person that I am who just love to annoy people like these, I am too quick to get between things. With the old lady, I just told her to shut up. And with the lady who went straight to the taxi, I just stood straight between her grocery cart and the taxi as if I haven’t seen her. She really had a hard time unloading her groceries until she told me excuse myself between them. Of course, I “haven’t heard her”.

With all these, I just love the look in their faces. They were really surprised. I just don’t want people like them to get into other people just to have the convenience that they want for themselves. It’s just that, everybody’s fighting a hard battle everyday. So please, be good to everybody even if you’re in a bad mood. And if not, you’ll find people like me who like to be entertained by people like you.

what beer?

\m/. I just got home from a short chat with Gold. And I can now distinguish San Mig Light from San Mig Strong Ice.

Just don’t gargle your mouthwash when you go drinking. I just can’t take it.
