God vs. Science

After some time of browsing for something to read, I was able to get into another classic debate, God vs. Science.

Well, for people who don’t, it’s either they really don’t believe (period) or just want to impress people of the notion that people in this category are intelligent.

I don’t want to get technical about it and I’m just a believer of God. I respect people who don’t believe in Him but please, spare me from the Charles Darwin Theory of Natural Selection.

If you believe that humans evolved from monkeys, speak for your family.

metal militia

And again, I’m too early from my usual office hours. I just have to make it early so I could go home earlier and get my Frisbee gear.

I don’t know but I’m better when I woke up. Maybe from the sleep function of my iPod that has been set to 60 min. before I slept and waking me up at 6 am with In Flames, Evergrey, Dark Tranquility, Soilwork and Opeth in it.

They’re doing it through my consciousness. I can now easily hear the screams and I can understand it. Yehey!!!

blue monday

It’s blue Monday again. I woke up at 8 am and went in the office at 10:45 am.

I had the documents for sponsorship delivered at SM with Juan and went to Matina branch to install the printer that has been asked by them.

I was also between floors as I did some repairs. It was really a busy day.

Anyway, it’s going to start raining and I hope that it’ll be done soon. I have to get some things for Mama tonight. It’s her birthday.

I just don’t know. I’ve been to metal music for months (which I felt so tough) and for just a movie about love and relationships (View for the Top), I started to crumble down. I felt the empty, lonely person that I used to be.

*sigh. grrrrrr

:) happy :)

Finally, I’m done with the tests. I just feel great about it. It’s easier than I thought. I’m just thankful to God’s grace. I asked and I received. He truly is GREAT, ALL THE TIME.

Anyway, tomorrow’s the new beginning. I’ll be playing Frisbee again. I haven’t been in the field for 3 weeks and I’m just excited. It’ll be a renewed love for the sport since I lost some of the fun I used to have.

I also have some archiving to do since I’m having a hard time in keeping the new mp3s that I have. A discography of Evergrey is already ready for my iPod and I just have to get them organized. Disk spaces are running out.

New Metallica songs?

The new Metallica album is expected to be out by summer or early fall of 2007. With the performance of their new songs at Seoul and Holland, I think it would be a good album.

I ‘m not expecting a Master Of Puppets type since James’ vocals has changed a lot and the creative process of the band has worked a little slower…as Lars told BBC Radio 1 recently.

With Rick Rubin replacing Bob Rock as producer, I’m just excited.

Sunday was a great day to fix all of my things. We have installed our new cabinet and dumped all of my stuff. It was practically a day’s work.

With all of the new arrangement, I am somewhat relieved. My own place is now clean. I also installed the speakers that Melanie gave me 3 months ago (the sweet Altec Lansing Speakers). Having it paired with my iPod or with my laptop, listening was more fun. Of course, having my rest with Children Of Bodom, Opeth and Dark Tranquility was sweet.

And now, I’m back to work. I think I’m having Blue Tuesday. I just miss my room.

...ear bleed

Opeth's The Grand Conjuration

My fascination with Scandinavian Metal started when I listened to Soilwork. (The band is great but they’ve softened their tunes on their latest releases).

After being tired with some American Metal bands, I shifted to European Metal bands to the fact of being the influence of the previous.

With Google, I started reading for some articles and eventually downloaded tons of albums which might help me get into them.

I got the albums of In Flames, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility, Opeth and Children Of Bodom. Listening to these bands just made me feel great. The music is great, powerful, progressive and very loud.

My iPod has to be reloaded with all of these as some of the tunes don’t make sense to me anymore. I have to remove some bands like Marilyn Manson (they’re starting to suck) and some alternative rock. This would be my haven for metal music.

Anyway, the list is growing. I’m getting some DragonForce, Evergrey, At The Gates, Meshuggah, Amon Amarth and Candlemass.

Friday, August 18, 2006 day

I’m home and no work. I’m on dial-up, with 33.6 kbps connection; I just can’t get into some of the sites and mails.

My monitor is busted so I’m using my laptop. I have to wait until next week to have it fixed. I just miss my files on my desktop. I just want some of the tunes transferred to my iPod.

Yesterday, I was able to gather albums from A Life Once Lost, Children Of Bodom, DragonForce, In Flames, Opeth, Trivium, Unearth, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Eric Johnson and a discography of Arch Enemy.

Having them on my iPod was a bit hard since I got lots of favorite tunes in it. I have to remove some and have to accommodate the new. I guess a 20 GB capacity isn’t enough for my Metal and Rock collection. How I wish I could get a terabyte of space just to get them all.

I’m just craving for more metal bands and I know I’ll have the chance of going to some of their concerts.

Up Dharma Down would be in Jack’s Ridge tomorrow. My Frisbee friends would be there and I’ll be somewhere. I’ve seen them on MTV Sessions and I don’t like their music.

Anyway, I’ll take my rest.

Happy Birthday, to me!!!

August 15, 2006, at about 10 PM, I got a message from Rocky, inviting me to get to Avenue S. We both have the same birthday so it would be nice to get through the last minutes of the 15th on the way to the 16th.

We just had some drinks and some Mexican food and talked foolish about life. It was fun being back to the place where I used to play and talk with friends. Anyway, we were all drunk as we celebrate it under the heavy rain.

I went home at about 2 AM and retired for the day’s activities. Since I availed my birthday leave, it was a good thing to stay on my bed a little longer. I just had pork and beans for breakfast and watched my favorite cartoons. It was really nice to watch Doraemon while sitting comfortably as I usually dress for my day’s work while watching.

It was also a good thing to answer all the greetings from my friends. They were all sweet. Thanks to (in order)

1. Angel
2. Shercy
3. Maean

I also got my chance of having my monitor fixed by a friend.

I had lunch with myself and paid a visit to my favorite chapel, the Pauline’s, to give thanks to the Lord.

I also got to have my review and went with my mama to have some groceries.

8 PM and we were somewhat exhausted.

I even got a gift from Angel at 9 PM…so sweet.

Thank you Lord

...another mark

…And tomorrow’s another mark for me.

I just can’t imagine how my life has turned this way. I was somewhat passive about the change and so far, I’m happy with it.

I got a new job. I got new friends who are really great. I got my new sport which is Ultimate Frisbee and I got a special friend who’s always there for me. I know this is God’s will as I am in the process of going to a life that I know I’m destined to.

I’m just thankful for all the blessings God has given to us. He is truly the best.

At last, the data havoc that has plagued our office has finally settled.

It all started when an unknown error occurred during backup. I was in a Frisbee game while the user was trying to get help. It was way too late for me to get back from my geeky job so I decided to be early the next day.

I’ve been to situations like this but this has really confirmed my maturity in handling pressures. I was somewhat cool with it and it was well managed. I am relieved.

I’m just happy being back to the geek in me… Very fun and rewarding.

...through the fire and flames

I have so much for this day and it’s nice to see some great guitar work from one of my favorite bands. A great stress reliever.

"Mass" Destruction

I’m talking not as a priest but as a Board Member” – Fr. Paul (during his homily)

Well, it’s the first Saturday of the month and it’s our monthly mass at the 4th floor.

Having heard those words from a priest, without hesitation, I decided not to hear mass. It’s a common knowledge that he presides mass way beyond what we expect. With so much of ad-libs and in betweeners, I just can’t get into it. Mass has become his ground of his convenience. Where he attacks every subject he could think of...prolonging irrelevance and boredom. His analogies have become irrelevant to the gospel. Sometimes contradicts to his own. If he’s talking not as a priest, then why preside the mass? Are we supposed to hear it from a priest? Who gives homilies based on God’s knowledge and wisdom? And not making it an avenue of commentaries like having it in a Board Meeting.

Everything has its own time and place. Be it that way.

What supposed to have a peaceful mind after mass, everyone has turned into an impromptu commentator. What a way to live Christ after mass…
